Moved and robbed [11 Dec 2009|04:47pm] pink_issues Last Monday, while Bevs and I were at work and Aris was in Cavite, our apartment was robbed. The robber managed to open our three locks and get two digital cameras, one of which is a DSLR. I arrived in the apartment (which is by the way in the fourth floor) at around 7 PM. The door was open and the apartment was chaotic. When I looked at the drawer where I usually hide my digital camera, it was gone. When I called Bevs to tell what happened, I realized that her DSLR was also gone. The robbery happened just a week after we moved in. There are more than 10 units in the building and our unit was the only one that was robbed. In our two and a half years of stay in our old apartment, no single robbery occurred. There was a time, after Ondoy, that our door was left open most of the time because the keys to the knob and bolt were not working but nobody even bothered to break in. We haven’t fully settled in our new apartment yet and we were already robbed. It’s heartbreaking, disappointing, and scary. We might need to move to another apartment before the year ends. Ang malas lang talaga ng 2009 para sa’kin. If my memory serves me right, Year of the Ox is not supposed to be kind to those who were born in the Year of the Tiger like me. But I did not expect this year to be this cruel. I am just happy that despite all the bad things, there are also great things that happened this year that I should be thankful for. post comment
